Rain Garden and Tree Maintenance Spring Mills Middle School, Spring Mills, WV The Girl Scout Troop composed of students that attend Spring Mills Middle School gathered on a Sunday morning to remove weeds, old growth, and added a new layer of mulch to the rain garden in anticipation for new spring growth. The four Girl Scouts were joined by Troop Leader, Amy Sharpe, and a parent volunteer. The girls shared fun stories as they worked together. After most of the weeds and old growth was removed a group of two Girl Scouts and a leader worked to properly mulch trees from a previous WV Project CommuniTree planting. At the end of the morning the rain garden and trees had all been cared for and a new layer of mulch added. The Girl Scouts were able to see their hard work had paid off. |
